The Indian cricket team is blessed to have a strong bench which consists of players who perform consistently well for the A team and domestic teams. The ongoing T20I series between India and South Africa might feature some new faces from the bench as new players are being tried out in this series.
Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has advised skipper Virat Kohli to give consistent chances to upcoming youngsters so that a well-balanced squad could be formed for years to come.
“The most important thing for India is to not look at the World T20 next year. Before the last World Cup, there was too much noise about it and that sometimes is not good. What they need to do is pick the best possible players and give them consistent opportunities, as there is some serious talent in the domestic circuit,” he wrote in his article.
