With the upcoming edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) nearing, franchises are actively involved in the signing of the foreign as well as the national stars. Recently, Sydney Thunder has announced the hiring of South Africa’s all-rounder Chris Morris who has played 4 Tests, 42 ODIs and 23 T20Is for his national team.
Joining the club for a one-year deal, the 32-year old was found in a jubilant mood as playing BBL has always been on his ‘bucket list’. The veteran player will bring a plethora of experience stretching across various T20 leagues. Morris has played 182 T20 games in which he scored approximately 1500 T20 runs and claimed 227 wickets.
Sydney Thunder believes that the inclusion of a cricketer like Morris will improve their balance significantly as they are aiming to steal the thunder of the forthcoming T20 event. The franchise is set to commence their cricketing action in the ninth season of the Australian T20 carnival against Brisbane Heat on December 17 at the Gabba.
