The Sri Lankan cricket team is going to tour Pakistan from the 27th of this month as they would play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against the hosts during their brief stay.
The tour has recently been finalized after many deliberations as the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board was waiting on the approval from the Defence Ministry.
Numerous regular players including the captain and vice-captain would not take part in the series as they pulled out before the tour was even finalized.
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has revealed the main reason behind the pulling out of players as he said that Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises are behind all this.
Afridi said that he has talked to the Sri Lankan players in the past as well and they often told him that IPL franchises force them to pull out of commitments with the Pakistan team and board so that they could keep on getting contracts from the lucrative IPL.
