Christopher Mpofu, the 33-year old Zimbabwean fast bowler produced a match winning spell against Afghanistan in the 5th match of the Bangladesh T20I Tri-series. The right-arm fast bowler picked up a career best figures of 4-30 and restricted Afghanistan to a total of 155 for 8.
In the reply, Zimbabwe put up a resilient effort courtesy a splendid knock from Hamilton Masakadza, who was playing his last International game for Zimbabwe. Masakadza scored a brutal 71 off just 42 balls and helped Zimbabwe in chasing the target with 3 balls and 7 wickets to spare.
Mpofu was named “Man of the Match” for his quality spell. Till date, the 33-year old has represented Zimbabwe in 30 T20I games in which he has picked up 30 wickets at an average of 30.64. He has also represented Zimbabwe in 83 ODIs and 15 Test matches.
