Indian captain Virat Kohli has started off the home season with a bang as he took India over the line against South Africa in the 2nd T20I at Mohali on Wednesday. The right-hander showed his range and prowess in T20I cricket by playing some unbelievable shots all around the ground.
The batsman later credited former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar for motivating him before that innings as he reminded him of his Mohali heroics from the World T20 2016 at the start of the game.
“You reminded me of the best game of my T20 career. I got a bit of motivation from that. When you play like that and win a game for your team, it is always a good feeling. That night was a revelation of how fit you can be on a cricket field,” Kohli told Manjrekar during the post-match interview.
