Including a plethora of cricketing action stretched across many days, another edition of the Vitality T20 Blast came to an end. This time, it was Essex who stole the thunder of the competition by beating Worcestershire in the final of the 20-over event.
Essex’s journey in the tournament was full of highs and lows, but they turned up when it mattered the most. After finishing the league-stage at 4th position of the points table of South group, the unit decided not to look back as they kept performing brilliantly to end up winning the title.
Pakistan’s veteran cricketer Mohammad Amir was a part of Essex but played only 8 games as he had to return to his country to perform his national duties. Nevertheless, the 27-year old was extremely delighted to see his team claiming glory in the English T20 frenzy.
Amir took to Twitter to express his jubilation while also congratulating the team. Moreover, Essex produced a wonderful gesture to cover Amir’s absence as they used a poster of him while celebrating their title victory.
