Pakistan’s bowling coach Waqar Younis is set to miss the first game of the forthcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka. The reason behind his absence is that the legendary cricketer will be traveling to Sydney to attend his daughter’s graduation ceremony.
Waqar made Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) aware of his personal commitment prior to his appointment as the bowling coach of the boys in green. The 47-year old will join the team ahead of the 2nd ODI game. All the three 50-over contests will be played in National Stadium of Karachi where batting paradises are expected to be dished out.
This will be Waqar’s first assignment after taking over as the bowling coach of Pakistan. The Vehari born who played 87 Tests and 262 ODIs for Pakistan is confident to achieve success as the mentor of the bowling unit. Moreover, it will be interesting to see how Waqar performs as the bowling coach after his previous tenure where he served as the head coach of the national team.
