After the conclusion of the three-game T20I series against India, South Africa is all set to begin their journey in the ICC World Test Championship with a three-match Test series. First game will get underway from October 2, while the next two games are scheduled to be played in Pune and Ranchi.
Ahead of the red-ball series, South Africa’s batting sensation Aiden Markram spoke to media to share his views on the forthcoming assignment. The opening batsman is of the view that he and other young players cannot just rely on the ‘fearless and expressive cricket’. Instead, he wants his batting unit to show responsibility as India is expected to dish out spin friendly pitches.
Moreover, scoring against India A in same conditions lifted his morale as he is now aiming to replicate similar shows against the senior team of India. It was way back in 2000 when South Africa last won a Test series in India and this unit doesn’t need a reminder to know that. The upcoming series promises to be a thrilling affair as the rainbow nation is eager to best the men in blue.
