Central Punjab took on Northern in the 6th match of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy at Faisalabad Cricket Stadium. Batting first, Central Punjab put up a mammoth total of 433 runs courtesy magnificent centuries from Azhar Ali and Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Musa managed to pick up 3 wickets from the Northern’s side.
In reply, Northern was clueless against the top-quality spin bowling and was bowled out for just 114 runs. No one really got going from the Northern’s team as Central Punjab ripped through their batting order with some accurate bowling. Deficit of 289 runs, Northern was enforced follow-on by Central Punjab.
The calamities continued to tumble on the team as the batting line failed once again. This time they managed to score 219 runs, with Haider Ali being the highest scorer (33). Zafar Gohar picked up 7 wickets whereas Bilal Asif grabbed 6 scalps in the match.
