Australia’s legendary spinner Shane Warne received a ban from driving for 12 months after being guilty of the sixth speeding offence in two years. Warne admitted his wrongdoing at the Wimbledon Magistrates' Court for driving at over 75 kmph, way more than the speed limit of 65 kmph in the zone.
Warne already had 15 penalty points prior to this latest infringement of the law for five speeding offences from April 2016. The 50-year-old, who was not present at the hearing, is also required to pay 900 pounds as fine.
Warne is highly regarded as the greatest slow bowler to play the game having ended his career as the second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket and now frequently appears as a cricket commentator and expert analyst.
