Junaid Khan has laid to rest all rumours concerning a shift to the England national team. The left-arm pacer has made it clear that he wants to play for Pakistan and not for England even though he currently holds the British nationality.
“I want to play for Pakistan, not England. The respect I earn in Pakistan; I cannot get that by becoming an English cricketer. For me, Pakistan comes first, even if I am a British national as well,” he asserted.
Junaid was disheartened by his exclusion from the World Cup squad earlier this summer and news emerged he had threatened to consider playing for England.
“I was disappointed but I am still hopeful too that I would be recalled following a good season in the domestic circuit,” he said.
