Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) CEO Wasim Khan has categorically denied paying the touring Sri Lankan squad any additional money to ensure they play in Pakistan. The rumor mill was churning out the possibility of Sri Lankan cricketers being convinced to travel through monetary rewards but Khan has refuted this speculation.
“Security is fine in Pakistan; this is now our home venue. Bilateral series against Sri Lanka is important, and let me tell you that we are not paying them any extra money. They’re coming here for 13 days. Things are going in right direction for us,” Khan said.
He also added that hosting home series in the UAE was proving to be far costlier and taking a toll on the expenses of the PCB. He hoped the forthcoming series would be nail-biting affair and be adorned by the sight of full-house stadiums.
