Sri Lanka’s special memory at National Stadium Karachi
Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan 2019

Sri Lanka’s special memory at National Stadium Karachi

Sri Lanka is all set to play against Pakistan at the National Stadium Karachi for the 3-match ODI series starting from Friday 27th September, 2019. Sri Lanka has some great memories in Pakistan, whether it was the World Cup victory at Lahore in 1996 or Asia Cup triumph over India at the National Stadium, the Islanders cannot forget both.

In 2008, Sri Lanka vanquished over India in the final of Asia Cup in Karachi. The Lankan lions scored 273 batting first, courtesy a remarkable century from the dashing left-handed opening batsman, Sanath Jayasuriya. In reply, India was bowled out for just 173 and lost the match by 100 runs.

Ajantha Mendis was the star of the show, who bamboozled India with his mystery spin bowling. The bloke picked up the figures of 6 for 13 from his 8-over spell. Sri Lanka reminiscing those glorious moments, would definitely want to carry on with their good performances in the City of Lights as they take on Pakistan in the bilateral series.
