Pakistan’s newly appointed head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq is ready for his first international assignment when his team takes on Sri Lanka at home for three ODIs and three T20Is. Misbah, who was often met with criticism for his slow strike rate during his playing days, was asked about this matter again ahead of the first ODI in Karachi.
A journalist directed Misbah’s attention towards the snail-paced centuries made by batsmen in domestic cricket by labeling his style of play as ‘tuk tuk’. "Even when you used to bat, you used to have similar approach towards your innings. So, as head coach would you allow the batsmen to focus more on tuk tuk and less on hard hitting?" the reporter asked.
"You're focusing more on tuk tuk, looks like you didn't get a car today. Or maybe someone has told you to try and irritate the coach," Misbah said in reply which left the room in laughter.
