Misbah-ul-Haq gets emotional on Sri Lanka’s arrival

It was indeed Sri Lanka’s tour to Pakistan which marked the birth of a horrific period for Pakistan in 2009 after which teams refused to travel to the country citing security concerns. After a gap of 10 years, it is again the Islanders who are visiting Pakistan for a full-fledged tour. While few senior cricketers backed away, others remained adamant to swell the charm of Pakistani stadiums.

With the arrival of Sri Lanka in Pakistan, the head coach of the boys in green Misbah-ul-Haq looked back at his journey. Last time when Sri Lanka played ODI cricket in Pakistan, the skillful cricketer was a part of the national team. This time, he would compete against the blue team as the mentor of the unit.

Sharing his views on the forthcoming ODI series scheduled to commence from September 27, the former captain said that Friday would go down as an emotional day for him. Reflecting on whatever happened 10 years ago, Misbah expressed disappointment, but thanked Sri Lanka for their visit and hoped to see many Test nations playing International cricket in Pakistan.
