India’s pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah was recently ruled out of the Test series against South Africa. The reason of his absence is a ‘minor stress fracture’ which would see him missing the red-ball games commencing from October 2. This news obviously hasn’t gone down well with many cricket pundits as they were looking forward to see him playing his maiden Test at home.
However, former Indian quick Ajit Agarkar isn’t very unhappy to see India losing Bumrah’s services. He believes that the spinners usually bowl a lot of overs in India. Hence, the pace battery might not look out of shape in the absence of their leader. Moreover, the 41-year old sees India beating the rainbow nation with or without Bumrah playing.
“The X-factor Bumrah brings is not easy to find. In his short career of 12 Tests, Bumrah has been exceptional. However, I believe Bumrah’s absence won’t make a huge difference in India. It would have been a massive blow if it was an away tour. However, here spinners do the bulk of the work,” said by Mumbai born as he reviewed Bumrah’s injury.
