After participating in the T20I tri-series against Zimbabwe and Afghanistan, Bangladesh’s cricketer Liton Das is all set to join Jamaica in the ongoing season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). For this to happen, the wicket-keeper batsman has also received the NOC from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Liton’s batting form wasn’t ideal in his last International assignment, but he is hopeful to do well in the West Indian T20 frenzy.
This is the first opportunity for him to feature in the franchise-based T20 tournament abroad which has thrilled him to the core.
Moreover, the cricketing action would help him to prepare for the upcoming tour of India which includes three T20Is followed by two Test matches.
Reviewing his numbers in the shortest format of the game, one would conclude that the 24-year old cricketer hasn’t done justice to his potential.
Nevertheless, the 20-over event presents him with an ideal chance to prove his mettle. With Jamaica reeling on the bottom of the table with only 2 victories in the championship, Liton will have to find his best form soon to make things happen for his franchise. It would be interesting to see how he fares in the 6-team competition.
