Young Saqib Mahmood has been included in the Test and T20I squad to face the Kiwis at their home. Saqib Mahmood has been added in the squad because of his recent performances in the T20 matches in the Vitality blast T20 competition.
The right-arm fast-medium bowler took to his twitter account and expressed jubilation over his inclusion in the senior English team.
Interestingly, Saqib has played only 17 T20 matches and took 20 wickets with 4-14 being his best. Saqib also said in his tweet that it’s a dream come true for him and he can’t wait to get out there and don the national jersey.
Apart from Saqib Mahmood, Lewis Gregory, Pat Brown, Tom Banton, Matt Parkinson and Dom Sibley have also earned their debut national calls.
