Former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur recently found himself back in the headlines for associating former skippers Misbah-ul-Haq and Wasim Akram with his ousting from the coveted post. Arthur had mentioned in a podcast with a major cricket news website that he felt betrayed for having put his trust in Misbah and Wasim in the PCB Cricket Committee.
After Arthur’s comments drew a storm in the media, the South African has claimed he was in his right to have an opinion on his removal as coach after having served Pakistan cricket for three years.
"I was dignified in my comments because I love Pakistan, the players I worked with, spent time with for three years and respect Misbah and Wasim," Arthur stated.
"I felt disappointed because I had some unfinished business to do with the Pakistan team and would have loved to continue. But now we have moved on and I wish Pakistan team the best of luck under Misbah,” he added.
