Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is counted among the most celebrated cricketers in the history of the game. While his career remained plagued with inconsistency, Afridi was unstoppable on his day. Producing spectacular outings, the talismanic cricketer helped the boys in green achieve many rare victories.
Presently, the 39-year old is gearing up to turn out for Qalandars in the forthcoming edition of the T10 League. Afridi was recently questioned about his interest in coaching Pakistan’s national team. Answering the question, the explosive cricketer replied in negative.
Afridi admitted and explained that he doesn’t possess the needed temperament for coaching the national team. However, the Khyber Agency born has put forward his services for mentoring the teenagers as he feels that transferring the knowledge regarding handling pressure could ameliorate the confidence and mental framework of the young guns.
Moreover, he advised the current generation to adopt a fearless mode while playing the game and stay focused on their goals. It remains to be seen how Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) responds to all this.
