Sri Lanka is currently in Pakistan for the ODI and T20I series which is to be played in Karachi and Lahore respectively, before the series, many big match players from the Lankan side refused to tour Pakistan courtesy security concerns. Sri Lanka was forced to tour Pakistan with a relatively inexperienced squad.
Sri Lanka’s interim Head Coach admits the fact that Pakistan’s squad has an advantage over Sri Lanka. He said that we could not enforce decisions on our players to visit Pakistan, it was up to their consent. “Pakistan’s squad is a giant, we are not the giants. They are professionals, we are professionals and that is what motivates us to be on the same page”, Ramesh added.
"If things go well, this series will be a huge thing for the future, not only for other Sri Lankan players to come here, but also for all other countries to be here in Pakistan", the Head Coach talked with optimism. Although Sri Lanka does not have a strong team, yet with so much unpredictability residing in the Pakistani team and in the game itself, no one can write them off the scripts.
