The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy second XI matches scheduled to take place in Mirpur Stadium in Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been shifted to Karachi’s NBP Stadium. The fourth and fifth-round three-day non-first-class matches have been moved from the original venue due to the September 24 earthquake.
The strong natural disaster which claimed the lives of several people and rendered hundreds homeless has also drastically affected the infrastructure in the city.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken this decision to avoid any complications since the only hotel where squads had to be accommodated were damaged by the earthquake.
The two matches that will now take place in Karachi are between Balochistan and Northern (2-4 October) and the fifth round fixture featuring Central Punjab and Sindh (8-10 October). The shift of venues will not have an effect on the home and away labels.
