The tri-series in Singapore saw a massive upset as the hosts were able to beat a full-member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the shape of Zimbabwe’s cricket team. The match was rain-affected but Singapore batted extremely well to secure a massive total of 181.
Though there were no half-centuries from Singapore’s side, Rohan Rangarajan (39 off 22) and Surendran Chandramohan (23 off 17) gave a solid start to Singapore whilst Tim David and Manpreet Singh also contributed with a pair of 41s. Ryan Burl took 3 wickets for Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe were cruising in their chase when they reached 142-2 at the end of 14th over as Chakabva crashed 48 off 19.
After Williams fell for 66, Zimbabwe were in a spot of bother as they lost quick wickets after that. At the end, Sidhant Singh held his nerves to defend 10 runs in the last over and give Singapore a historic victory.
