Pakistan Cricket Team’s captain, Sarfraz Ahmed continues to struggle with the bat in hand in the ODI cricket. Sarfraz’s performance has gone down significantly in the last couple of years. He has not been able to accelerate his batting in the latter half of the innings.
He has hit only 2 sixes in his last 25 ODI innings, which is a big concern in the modern-day cricket. Moreover, the 32-year old has only scored 153 runs in his last 9 innings at an average of almost 17. Sarfraz’s poor run in the ODI cricket has created further problems for Pakistan’s already fragile batting line-up.
Misbah-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s newly appointed Chief Selector might promote Sarfraz up the order to deal with this issue. The wicket-keeper batsman has the ability to rotate the strike consistently, and top-order might suit his style of play.
