Pakistan marked the ODI return to the country with a stunning victory against Sri Lanka. In a celebrated game, Pakistan won the toss and batted first to produce a total in excess of 300. Prolific batsman Babar Azam was once again spotted shining with the bat as the Lahore born smashed his 11th ODI ton to lead Pakistan’s batting department.
Fast-bowler Usman Shinwari celebrated his 50-over comeback with a match-winning performance. The skillful pacer claimed his second five-wicket haul against Islanders and went on to joke about it in the presentation ceremony. In his International debut series against Sri Lanka in 2013, Usman was smashed to all parts of the ground.
After being reminded about his elite bowling record against Sri Lanka, Usman joked that he was looking to avenge the thrashing he experienced in his debut series. Moreover, the 25-year old, who missed the chance of representing the boys in green in World Cup 2019, was delighted to announce his arrival in strong words and vowed to continue working hard to help Pakistan win many games.
