Team politics is one of the saddest stories of the Pakistan cricket and was recently brought back to light by former Pakistan captain Younis who considered himself a victim of this evil. The most successful Test batsman of Pakistan gathered massive respect across the cricketing globe for which he was delighted, but still rued the national team’s politics.
Younis Khan opens up about lobbying against him
Recently, the 41-year old appeared on national television as he talked about the formation of a lobby against him. Refraining from naming anyone, Younis added that 7 or 8 players stood against him and played the central role in ruining the environment of the team. However, he went on to extend his gratitude to the ex-wicket-keeper batsman Rashid Latif for backing and motivating him through all the tough times.
“I witnessed 7 or 8 players standing against me and making a lobby. Today, these guys are stars and honor of Pakistan due to which they get admired by many. However, whatever they did was like playing with the country. Experiencing all that was painful,” Younis added while opening up on the pains of past.
