Following an early exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made changes in the coaching staff. As a result, former captain Misbah-ul-Haq was installed as the new coach of the national team. Not only this, he has been given the position of chief selector as well.
While this attracted a lot of backlashes as cricket pundits believe that asking a novice coach to play a dual role is a risky affair.
Misbah ul Haq is ready and excited to deliver for Pakistan
On the other hand, the 45-year old is ready and excited to deliver for the boys in green as he wants to see the green team becoming a top team of all the three formats of the game.
Ahead of the start of the 2nd ODI at Karachi against Sri Lanka, Misbah discussed his new role with Alan Wilkins. Sharing his views, the Mianwali born added that he is using his captaincy experience to manage things.
Moreover, playing with most of these cricketers as their skipper is helping Misbah to communicate and function well with this unit. Misbah’s success as a coach is remained to be seen.
