Sri Lanka suffered a 67-run defeat in the second ODI against Pakistan at the National Stadium, Karachi. Despite the setback, the mood in the Sri Lankan camp is positive primarily due to the overall motivation to help the revival of international cricket in Pakistan.
Sri Lanka Sports Minister Harin Fernando, who is accompanying the national side on their visit to Pakistan, spoke on the close bond between the country’s cricket board and PCB.
He highlighted the kind gesture that PCB undertook in the aftermath of the Easter bombings in Colombo by sending their Under-19 side to Sri Lanka at a time when other international teams were wary of touring.
"Sri Lanka has a large Muslim community and we believe in harmony. We want to thank the PCB. When we had a situation in April, they sent an Under-19 team to Sri Lanka when things weren't settled down there,” he said, extending gratitude to the PCB.
