Guyana Amazon Warriors are in elite form as the franchise recorded their 8th consecutive victory in the ongoing season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). In the 27th game of the tournament, Trinbago Knight Riders invited Guyana Amazon Warriors to bat first after winning the toss.
Warriors made great use of the chance to post a mammoth total of 185 on the board. By no means, it looked safe against Knight Riders’ batting department.
Even skipper Kieron Pollard went berserk after rescuing his team from 53-4. Recording his 48th half-century of 20-over cricket, the explosive all-rounder smashed 8 fours and 3 sixes to score 71 runs consuming only 38 balls.
However, things became out of his reach as he wasn’t able to get much support from the other end. While middle-order batsman Darren Bravo complimented him with a fifty, it came at a sluggish rate which allowed Warriors to stretch their dream run in the 6-team event.
Pollard was delighted to fire with the bat but rued his team’s declining chart in CPL 2019. Nevertheless, he is confident to come back strongly in the forthcoming games.
