While eyes were glued to see paceman Jasprit Bumrah playing his maiden Test series at home, his stress fracture ruled him out of the three-game series against South Africa. The proficient pacemen suffered a minor stress fracture in the lower back for which he is set to travel to the United Kingdom for treatment.
It has been reported that Bumrah will visit multiple specialists as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has no plans to show any leniency towards the matter. The head physiotherapist of the National Cricket Academy Ashish Kaushik will accompany Bumrah on this trip.
It is important to note that the 25-year old has been a gun pacer for India ever since his debut. Particularly in Test cricket, Bumrah already has 62 wickets in 12 games. He was India’s leading wicket-taker in their last red-ball series against West Indies. Knowing his quality and temperament, Indian fans are eager to see the leader of their pace battery getting back in action.
