Match Tied (Royal Challengers Bangalore win one-over eliminator)
Rohit Sharma- the hitman, shows his class once again as the right-handed batsman played a knock of his life in the 1st Test match against South Africa at Vishakhapatnam. Rohit accumulated 176 runs off 244 deliveries with 23 boundaries and 6 sixes. The South African bowlers had no reply for his utter brilliance.
Sharma thanked the Indian management for giving him a chance to open in the Test matches. “Opening in red-ball cricket is a different ball game. You have to train your mind and also look into certain aspects of your technique. You have to challenge yourself to play the new ball and take the game forward. I had no confusion about how I wanted to approach the game,” he added.
"I think opening just suits my game, just wear the pads and bat. At number six, the ball is reversing, the field placement is different and you need to keep all those things in mind. That game of wearing the pads and going in to bat before anyone else suits me more. Therefore, I thank the management for giving me my desired position”, he said.
