Abid Ali, who replaced injured Imam-ul-Haq in the 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka at the National Stadium Karachi, played a magical knock at the top and assured a great start for Pakistan in the chase of 298 runs. Abid scored a quick-fire 74 off just 67 balls including 10 stylish boundaries.
His knock captured the attention of the International Cricketers including the veteran Indian commentator, Harsha Bhogle. He was pretty much impressed with Abid Ali and loved the way he batted against the Lankan Lions.
He also related his name with his childhood hero “Abid Chicha”, a name that has special importance in his life. The 31-year old has now represented Pakistan in 4 ODIs, with an average of 47.75, he has scored 191 runs in these games he played.
