Pakistan celebrated the return of ODI cricket in Karachi with a spectacular series victory in the three-game ODI series. Repeating the supreme show of the last game, the boys in green defeated the tourists by 6 wickets.
Sri Lanka managed to post a strong target of 297 runs, but it wasn’t going to be enough particularly with a depleted bowling unit as the boys in green aced the chase inside 47 overs.
While Sri Lanka was on the receiving end in both the encounters, Danushka Gunathilaka proved to be a rare source of bliss.
The 28-year old cricketer produced a spectacular batting performance to score his 2nd ODI ton which allowed Islanders to get a meaningful total on the board. Doing so, Gunathilaka grabbed a place on the honors board of the iconic National Stadium.
Mustering a top-class knock consisting of 133 runs, the Panadura born smashed 16 fours and a solitary six to up the ante of his scoring rate. However, it all went in vain as the blue team produced a toothless bowling display which allowed Pakistan to steal the thunder of the day.
