Pakistan all-rounder Nida Dar has made history by becoming the first cricketer from her country to sign a deal with Women’s Big Bash League (BBL). The star player often dubbed as “Lady Boom Boom” will represent Sydney Thunder in the upcoming season of the Women’s BBL.
She recently made the headlines during the close-fought T20I series in South Africa where she struck the second-fastest fifty in the format in women’s cricket. She is also the third-highest wicket-taker among all female bowlers in T20I cricket.
“It’s wonderful, I have dreamt that I would one day play in this amazing league, and now I have the opportunity to play for Sydney Thunder,” an ecstatic Nida told Sydney Thunder’s website following the announcement.
"This is a great thing for me, it is a great achievement to play in the WBBL. I have been following the WBBL, it is great,” she added.
