Veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has reportedly entered the draft for the brand new competition – The Hundred. This innovative tournament promises to be a glitzy affair and will take place in England next summer with a unique set of rules in place featuring teams playing 100 deliveries each.
Already the roster of players interested in signing up for The Hundred is filled with plenty of huge names and Harbhajan is the sole Indian to be included in the draft. However, sources reveal that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not keen on providing Harbhajan the NOC to participate in the competition.
This development entails Harbhajan having to risk retirement from international cricket in order to go ahead with a contract in The Hundred. Earlier this year, the 39-year-old had a fruitful season with Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
