Glenn Phillips, the Kiwi wicket-keeper batsman who is playing for the Jamaica Tallawahs in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is leading the runs chart of the tournament.
The aggressive right-handed batsman has scored 374 runs so far with an extremely powerful strike rate of 145. In 10 matches, Phillips has scored his runs with an impressive average of 37.40. Much to his disappointment, the Tallawahs haven’t been up to their standard and lost some of the very close encounters.
Lendl Simmons is at the no.2 spot with 348 runs under his belt in just 9 matches with a brilliant average of 43. Glenn Phillips had a fantastic county season as well last year and he was picked for the T20I series against Pakistan last year in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
He couldn’t perform at that time but he’s making his case stronger for national selection through these belligerent performances in the T20 leagues around the world.
