Following a dismal performance in the World Cup 2019 tournament where he amassed only 186 runs at 23.25, Pakistan’s batsman Fakhar Zaman made his bat talk in the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka. While the explosive batsman scored 2 half-centuries, he didn’t look in his prime as the 29-year old player was found a bit cautious and uneasy for some part of his both innings.
Recently, Salman Butt jumped up to address the concerns regarding Fakhar Zaman’s batting. The former captain is of the opinion that the Mardan born needs to improve his footwork if he wants to perform strongly and consistently against all the teams. Moreover, he advised Fakhar to learn from Babar Azam and Haris Sohail to keep conditions in mind while devising his batting strategy.
“Fakhar’s front-foot moves once and then there is no movement towards the ball. This stops his body weight from going to the zone where he is playing the shot. He bludgeons the ball and that’s his mantra, but he will have to respect the conditions,” the Lahore born added.
