South Africa’s wicket-keeper batsman, Quinton de Kock seems to have a special affiliation with India, the 26-year old scores wholesome runs in this part of the world. Starting off with the T20I series, de Kock penetrated his exceptional form in the Test series.
Quinton de Kock scored a remarkable century in the 1st innings of the Visakhapatnam Test when the Proteas desperately wanted him to click. He scored 111 runs with the help of 16 boundaries and 2 sixes before he was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin. His partnership with Dean Elgar brought South Africa out of the abyss of trouble.
The wicket-keeper batsman was unstoppable in the T20I series as well where he scored two back-to-back half-centuries against the quality Indian bowling attack. The left-handed batsman now has a good start to the Test matches campaign. South Africa needs him to continue on his merry way as the team does not have a really strong batting line-up.
Quinton de Kock did not enjoy a good ICC Cricket World Cup campaign, he failed to convert his starts into big figures. This redemption phase will provide him with a lot of confidence going forward into the ICC Test Championship.
