The age of social media has ushered in a technological revolution but has been guilty of giving rise to the concept of fake news. This involves baseless reports tying well-known celebrities and often spreading information regarding the specific individual.
The latest person subject to the menace of fake news has been senior Afghanistan cricketer Mohammad Nabi. News relating to the 34-year-old’s death spread like wildfire on social media after people posted pictures of the all-rounder expressing sadness over his demise.
The former Afghan skipper, however, quickly put an end to all the rumors circulating around his health by tweeting the confirmation of his wellbeing. He clarified he is all good and condemned the news disseminated by certain social media outlets.
