Defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders have knocked St Kitts and Nevis Patriots out of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) after triumphing by six wickets in the Eliminator clash. While the victory margin might suggest a comfortable win for TKR, they were in a spot of bother during their pursuit of the target of 126.
Just when things looked ominous for them, skipper Kieron Pollard rose to the occasion and slammed a match-winning cameo of 26 from just 9 deliveries to take his team over the line. Pollard’s unbeaten stay at the crease was laced with a solitary boundary and three towering sixes.
As soon as Pollard arrived into the middle, he turned up the heat with some lusty blows from his bat that sealed victory for his side. Pollard’s Knight Riders will now take on Barbados Tridents in the second qualifier.
