Pakistan has been taking baby steps to restore International cricket back to the empty grounds of the country. By fits and starts, Pakistan attracted and invited few teams, but still remains away from a complete resumption of the International cricket. However, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani believes that the country will be in good frame to host an ICC event in next 5 years.
Addressing this concern, the 74-year old admitted that Pakistan currently doesn’t possess the capacity to play a host to an ICC event. Moreover, he plans to prepare well with assignments like running series against Sri Lanka. Ehsan Mani also revealed disappointment on ICC dispensing every single major event of next few years to only three nations – India, Australia and England.
“We need to commence the work now to make a case of hosting an ICC event. If we keep working smoothly, we can have a T20 World Cup or Champions Trophy in a span of five years. Such an event would be massive for us,” said by the boss of PCB.
