VVS Laxman, India’s veteran cricketer commended the efforts of young Mayank Agarwal, who was the star of the show during the 1st Test match against South Africa at Visakhapatnam. The opening batsman notched up a magnificent double ton against the Proteas.
VVS Laxman loved the fearless approach adopted by the young Agarwal and he similized him with Virender Sehwag, the former Indian opening batsman. "Players usually change the way they play in domestic and international cricket, but he managed to maintain his style in both forms of cricket. Mental toughness and stability are his strengths and he play fearlessly just like his favorite, Virender Sehwag." Laxman said.
Agarwal has given India relief at the top of the order in the longest format of the game. Previously, the Indian team was struggling with the opening slots in the Test format, but now India can rely on him and Rohit Sharma going further in the ICC Test Championship.
