While Pakistan looked a far superior unit in the ODI series, T20I games presented a different story. The passion of Sri Lankan unit was able to overcome the experience of the boys in green. All this led to the bashing of the newly appointed head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq who brought back players like Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal in the national team.
In the presser after the 2nd game, Misbah said that the critics should try to be a bit patient as this was his first series and he wanted to test the bench strength. However, this answer didn’t go down well with former Pakistan batsman Faisal Iqbal who believes that Misbah is making lame excuses to hide his failure.
The 37-year old took to Twitter to share his disapproval as he was extremely frustrated with Pakistan’s lackluster performance against an inexperienced team of Sri Lanka. Faisal added that Misbah would keep on making useless explanations during his 3-year coaching period. It is important to note that he was always against the appointment of Misbah-ul-Haq.
