Carrying the tag of being the top-ranked T20I team and playing in home conditions installed Pakistan as the favorites for the three-game series against Sri Lanka. However, what followed baffled everyone as the second string Sri Lankan unit produced elite outings to thump Pakistan and win the series of the shortest format of the game.
All this attracted backlash towards the newly appointed head coach Misbah-ul-Haq who made strange decisions like picking discarded batters Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal. Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja was so frustrated that he went on to demand a separate T20 coach for the boys in green.
The cricketer turned commentator said that Pakistan needs to reassess the role of Misbah as he is carrying a lot of responsibilities. To lighten his burden and improve Pakistan’s power-hitting, the Lahore born wants to see a new coach for the 20-over cricket. Highlighting the fact that T20 World Cup isn’t far away, Ramiz added that Pakistan needs proper direction to save their team’s supremacy in this form of the game.
