For the first time in its history, Lahore’s iconic venue of Gaddafi Stadium will turn pink on the event of the third T20I between Pakistan and Sri Lanka as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has collaborated with the Pink Ribbon organization to inculcate awareness about breast cancer.
A grand ceremony will take place before the encounter between the two sides and it will feature the presence of President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi and PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani. The President will then pin pink ribbons on the captains of both teams – Sarfaraz Ahmed and Dasun Shanaka.
The PCB has also asked fans to wear pink to the T20I fixture as part of the #PINKtober initiative. October is generally regarded as the breast cancer awareness month and Pakistan is one of the countries deeply affected by this menacing ailment.
