While Mayank Agarwal is still in the early days of his Test career, he has already established himself as a mainstay in India’s batting lineup. Fresh from a maiden double century during his side’s thumping 203-run triumph in the first Test against South Africa, Agarwal followed it up with yet another hundred in the second game.
Dismantling the opposition with his elegant drives and authoritative strokes, Agarwal dealt with the plans set out by South Africa with great efficiency. He made a dogged 108 under sweltering conditions by caressing the ball through the gaps on a number of occasions.
The 28-year-old struck a total of 16 boundaries and two maximums during his sublime knock of 108. His splendid contribution hence provided India with an early advantage in the ongoing Test to clinch a series win.
