The Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan took place amidst much goodwill among the two sides. Despite initial concerns regarding the security arrangements, the Sri Lankan cricketing contingent was greeted with tremendous hospitality by the hosts.
Receiving a lot of love from the fans throughout the limited-overs series, Sri Lanka eventually capped off a rather successful tour with a T20I series whitewash in Lahore. Young Sri Lankan cricketer Shehan Jayasuriya, who was one of the stars during his side’s brilliant fightback in the second ODI, took time to thank Pakistan for being such good hosts.
Heartened by the support top quality security protocol given to his team, Shehan penned a special tweet expressing his desire to see more international teams visit Pakistan in the future. He also clicked a memorable selfie which saw him donning the replica of Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup jersey, to the delight of his Pakistani fans.
