South Africa were grilled to the ground on the second day of the ongoing Test against India in Pune as the hosts put forth a batting masterclass heralded by skipper Virat Kohli. While India continued to pile on heaps of runs, the Proteas players seemed to lose their cool under the sweltering conditions.
Right-arm paceman Kagiso Rabada and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock had a heated exchange of curse words during India’s domination with the bat and their ugly conversation was captured by the stump mics. The bitter incident took place in the 123rd over of the Indian innings as they were on their batting charge.
Rabada, fielding the ball off his bowling, threw the red cherry in the direction of the batsman and it was fumbled by keeper de Kock behind the stumps. The fumble resulted in an overthrow and this did not please Rabada, who dropped the f-bomb to de Kock. The 26-year-old also responded with similar vigor and used an expletive against Rabada leading skipper Faf du Plessis to intervene and calm things down.
