Cricket Ireland’s Chairman and CEO Warren Deutrom recently spent two days in Pakistan assessing the security arrangements in place during Sri Lanka’s limited-overs tour of the country. Happy with the security protocols and the hospitality received from the cricket-crazy nation, he cast a positive light on a possible future tour of Pakistan.
“It is a great pleasure to be here. First of all, we have been treated fabulously well. The courtesy, the generosity, the hospitality, the warmth, the love of cricket is plainly obvious for anyone to see,” he stated in a PCB podcast.
“Cricket Ireland is now a Test nation and we certainly feel it is important that we play our part in being a mature and grownup member of the cricket family. We want to play our part in assisting getting international cricket back in Pakistan,” he added, reaffirming his support to the cause of Pakistan cricket.
