Rashid Khan heaps praise on young Afghan talent

Band-e-Amir Dragons trounced Boost Defenders by a massive margin of 109 runs in Afghanistan’s domestic T20 competition Shpageeza Cricket League.

The Rashid Khan-led Dragons first posted a mammoth total of 193/4 in their 20 overs courtesy of opening batsman’s Javed Ahmadi’s stunning century.

Ahmadi made an unbeaten 117 off 63 balls, smashing eight maximums and 11 boundaries during his glorious blitz. The 27-year-old’s maiden T20 century is also the highest individual score by a batsman in the Shpageeza Cricket League.

Defenders were then shot out for just 84 on the board with medium-pacer Nijat Masood picking up five wickets for 22 runs – another Shpageeza record. Awed by the brilliant performances of the young duo, skipper Rashid penned a special tweet praising Nijat and Ahmadi’s heroic efforts.
